The ingredients used in manufacturing perfumes are mostly kept secret. Neither the methodology nor the components are revealed to consumers or other competing perfume manufacturers. It is not possible to know the ingredients of a perfume, as it is made from numerous plant and flower extracts. Perfumes can be classified according to their concentration, or can be grouped into olfactive families. People know fragrant extracts more commonly as essential oils. The essential oils depend on the foundation source, the purity, and the technique involved to get a specific fragrant extract.
There are three different types of oils, which are combined with plant extracts to create the fragrances. The base note, which is the first type, is blended with the strongest fragrance oils so as to retain it for a longer period of time. The base notes smell of sandalwood, vanilla, and ferns. The second type is the middle note that also has a major influence on the fragrance but is not as strong as compared to the base note. It includes the essences of lemongrass and ylang ylang. The top notes are added to the mixture after the middle note. These notes are very essential while preparing the fragrances for perfumes. The top notes have the fragrances of orchid, rose, lime, lavender, and lemon.
Fragrant essential oils are obtained in the form of an oily liquid. Perfume oils have a pleasant smell and are also used while making aromatherapy oils for massages, bathing soaps, perfumed candles, and colognes. Bathing products such as bathing gels and bathroom fresheners are also included in the list of products made from perfume oils.
The perfume oils are made from natural ingredients and do not have any side effects. They are very soothing for the mind and body, as they give a relaxed feeling.
